Letter addressed to Gilman Folsom (1808-1872), attorney. Originally from Dorchester NH, Mr Folsom relocated to Iowa City in 1841 where he practiced law and served in the state General Assembly 1850-52. Iowa City was the capital of Iowa in the mid 1800s.
