Hendricks & Brothers were copper merchants at 77 Broad Street and 32 South William Street in NYC. The firm was started by Harman Hendricks, who became extremely wealthy investing in real estate, owning much land in NYC from Sixth to Seventh Avenues between Twentieth and Twenty-Second Streets as well as thirty acres on Broadway. His sons continued in the same business, in the same store, first under the name Hendricks & Sons and then as Hendricks & Brothers. The firm was run by Uriah, who originally partnered with his father, and his brothers Henry and Montague. Uriah had 18 children.
