1847, 5¢ red brown (No. 1), two overlapping singles, left with four margins, right stamp cut in, tied together by bold red open grids, matching "Kalamazoo Mic. Nov. 5" c.d.s. on buff envelope to Cooperstown, N.Y., cover creases affecting stamps slightly, Fine appearance. Estimate $750-1,000.

Two singles, left stamp large margins including portion of adjoining stamp at left, right stamp cut in, affixed slightly overlapping and tied by red grid cancels with matching "Kalamazoo Mic. Nov. 5" circular datestamp on buff cover to Cooperstown N.Y., light creases incl. thru postmark and into left stamp, part of top flap missing and small erosion hole in address, still Fine appearance, an extremely rare 1847 Issue cover from Kalamazoo which received only 1,400 5c stamps, the Alexander book records only five covers, this example is not among them, ex Craveri, with 2000 P.F. certificate
