Here we have a 2 1/2 margin copy, on cover. Stamp is intact and has been pen-cancelled by the mail carrier. The cover also has an inscription 'Paid Stamp' pointing out this new phenomenon. We also learn from the cover inscriptions that it was mailed at North Oxford Mass. on December 23 1948 to Middleburg Conn., via New Haven. Cover measures about 13 by 8 cm. Cover is an actual envelope, not a folded letter. It was opened a little roughly in the corner near the stamp.
