Letter written to Sullivan Dorr (1778-1858) who was the second president of the Providence Washington Insurance Company (1838-1858). During the Revolutionary War, while Paul Revere was warning Lexington and Concord, to the west of Boston, about the British attack, Ebenezer Dorr (Sullivan’s father) was warning Roxbury and Boston Neck to the north of Boston. Sullivan also served as a Brown University trustee (1813-1858).
