Scott #2 on 1850 Cover from Boston to New York ~ Tied by Red Grid Cancel (005)
1847 10c black Washington (Scott #2) singe tied by a red grid cancel on folded cover sent from Boston, Massachusetts to New York City. Accompanying March 23, Boston circular date stamp at right. A pen marking affects stamp at left from an ink splattering around the cover. Still a nice example of the over 300 mile 10-cent rate between Boston and New York paid for by a 10c 1847 Issue stamp.
