This image was found in Thomas Alexander’s papers at the APRL on a sheet labeled Boston 12-10-xx. There is a “P.F.” written to the side, which may indicate the image came from the Philatelic Foundation database. Alexander’s book does not list a PF number for this cover.

Letter addressed to Jonathan D. Wheeler (1806-). He moved to Boston in 1832 but returned to Grafton in 1843. He was Selectman for 3 years and also was President of the Grafton National Bank. His second wife, Caroline A. Norcross, was a sister of Otto Norcross, Jr, the 19th mayor of Boston.
CDS is dated DEC 10 but is double struck, extending the 1 and making the 0 appear as an 8.
