Letter from Enoch Chase in Boston to Hon. William A. Hayes in South Berwick, Me.
Enoch Chase (1824-1888) was an upholsterer in Boston. He moved to Kansas Territory in 1854. He was one of the nine founders of the City of Topeka where he owned and operated the old Topeka Hotel.
William Allen Hayes (1783-1851) was a lawyer and judge.
