Figure 16. Keokuk Iowa March 13 (1850) red CDS in upper left of white folded letter. Affixed to upper right corner is 5c (#1) with red 5 socked on the nose and tied by second strike of the CDS. The stamp was apparently once loosened from the cover and then reaffixed but in a slightly shifted position so that the lines from the tying CDS don’t perfectly line up. The letter is addressed to Mr. Edward Manning, Keosauqua, Iowa. This is cover number 7 in Hart’s 1970 list where it is listed as a pair on cover, due to confusion with another Iowa cover.
