October 12, 2005 – The following three covers were submitted by Route Agent Dr. Charles J. DiComo. All are addressed to Ives, Upham and Rand of Meridan Connecticut, and all from New York circa 1895. All are hand-stamped in black with circular numerals, which can be seen as “20”, “22”, and “24”. Are the hand-stamps postal, or privately applied on receipt for internal purposes? Does anyone have an explanation for these hand-stamps?
