Lot 997 BALTIMORE R.R. Md./May 2" blue handstamp on 1846 blue folded letter to Hagerstown, with matching "Paid" and "5" in oval, also large red boxed "Paid" at top, very fine and colorful; a scarce railroad marking.

The cds reads Baltimore Md May 2. This was not posted on the Baltimore Railroad. The CDS is doubled and the auction catalog writer mistook the final E for an R.
