Lot 491 New York, N.Y., 1846, 5¢ black on bluish, signed "ACM", "AC" connected (Scott 9X1a), pos. 16, ample to large margins all around, tied by "PAID" handstamp with second strike at top center and well-struck "New-York 28 Feb 5 cts" integral-rate circular datestamp on 1846 folded letter to New Bedford Mass., Very Fine and choice, a beautiful cover with the stamp tied by a cancel and without a pen cancel.
