Lot 21 5c Black on white, different type from preceding copy, very fine, tied to small neat folded letter by indistinct pen cancellation. Cover bears blue Baltimore Md. Mar 13 (1847) also blue PAID and ms 10 and is addressed to Boston.
Excessively rare, only 6 or 7 other copies exist of this classic rarity. Not more than 2 or 3 are on covers, including the one in the previous lot. an outstanding cover, probably only surpassed by the cover in the previous lot. signed W H C(olson) (3X2) Cat. $12,500
