Lot 1 Annapolis, Md. (2XU1 var.), "Post Office" eagle seal struck in blue on small ladies' envelope addressed locally, matching blue "2" drop rating handstamp, flaps with red edging and top with embossed flower; small edge flaws at left, Fine and rare.

Only a small number of envelopes and folded letters exist with the Annapolis post office seal struck in red or blue. The Annapolis provisional envelopes are similarly struck with the seal and a "Paid 5" handstamp.
