This Census of the Dollar value stamps of Columbian Issue on cover is based on the pioneering work by Dr. Richard M. Searing, who published as series of articles in the USPCS Chronicle in August and November of 1992. Without this pioneering work, the present census would not exist. The covers for this census will be entered into the existing database as time permits. The images have been collected from a number of on-line sources and auction catalogs, and there are still a number of entries for which only a black/white photocopy is available, and a few for which no illustration is known. If you can provide an improved scan of any of these covers, please let me know.

Realized $5,250 ex-Wunsch, Hagendorf World Fair Exhibit (as Agent) RELATED COVERS: This is one of four recorded dollar value Columbian covers from the Krocker correspondence with the U.S. German Sea Post Office date stamp. These covers are in Census Set ID: S-29. $1.00 2/15/1893 ID: 8 $2.00 1/6/1893 ID: 3 $3.00 No cover recorded with this denomination $4.00 10/11/1893 ID:117 $5.00 1/6/1893 ID: 4 To view all of these covers, see the entry for the $1.00 cover, Census ID: 8. Note: It is believed that the cover originally designated Searing Census 2, was a duplicated entry for this cover. That cover, for which no illustration is known, was cited as being from the Margaret Wunsch collection. As no second cover with the current characteristics has been located, that entry has been designated as a duplicate of the current entry. Searing Census ID: 2 |
