Lot 2256 1847, 5¢ dark brown (Scott 1a), four-margined example (close but clear at top), lightly tied by faint red grid cancel on folded address sheet (docketed "1848/Robt Thompson/March 3" within) to New York City; nice fleuron "Albany/Mar/4/N.Y." postmark at bottom; sealed tear at bottom, couple file folds, Fine to Very Fine.
