Lot 2236 1847, 5¢ red brown, stitch watermark through top (Scott 1), richly colored single tied on blue 1848 folded letter sheet by red circular grid cancel with matching "New-York/Aug/2" postmark at right; addressed to Trenton, NJ; penciled note on reverse mentions the watermark, Fine to Very Fine.
