four margined example (just clear at right), May 25, 1850 folded letter sheet sent from New York to Trenton, the stamp is tied by red square grid with matching postmark at right. Cover has central vertical file fold that does not impact the stamp. Fine to very fine.

The 1850 edition of Doggett & Rode’s New York City directory lists Allen Clark as a painter at 103 Delancy Street.
