Lot 445 1847, 5¢ red brown, ample to large margins, tied by red grid cancel on fresh folded letter datelined "New York May 6th, 1850", to Baltimore, Md. with manuscript "Way" at center, no origin postmark, letter mentioning several railroad lines, Very Fine, a very unusual usage, this likely was given to a railroad route agent who applied the way marking.
