I’m confused by the catalog description. I see three cds strikes, all from Narraguagus, Me. The one in the lower left is dated SEP 30 while the two on the stamp and in the upper left are dated OCT 1. I view this cover as mailed on Sep 30 but held over until Oct 1 where it was sent to Machias, Me.

William Brown was the Collector of Customs in Machias Maine from the late 1830’s until early 1849.
