John Elias Forbes (1812-1864) was born in New Haven, Conn and died in New York City. He was married to Laura Sweetster who was born in 1825 in Baltimore and died in 1905 in Royat, France. Their marriage date is not recorded but they had three children and the middle one, Leila, was born in 1847.
John E. Forbes was a Wall Street broker (1847 Doggett’s)
