Letter addressed to Henry B. Tatham (1818-1892) in care of Tatham & Brothers, manufacturers of sheet lead and pipes, 1st Wharf below Cedar in Philadelphia (1848 McElroy’s city directory). The members of the firm were Henry B., William P. (1820=-1899) and George North Tatham (1808-1888). Two other brothers, Benjamin and Charles B. Tatham, ran the New York City branch of the firm, which also manufactured lead shot for the Tatham canister, a type of cannon amunition.
