Letter datelined Oakwood, Oct 19, 1849 and signed by Margarett G. Lee. (It appears that the writer started writing Washington and changed her mind and wrote Oakwood after writing the W.) Margaret Gordon Lee (1817-1866) inherited Oakwood Estate upon the death of her father John Scott (1779-1850). The estate was located in Fauquier Co., Va.
