There are 15 other covers in the census, ranging in dates of 2/11, 3/30 and Sept 8 – Dec 1 (13 covers). The latter grouping probably mostly dates to 1849. The two others and this one may be 1850 uses.
Nannie Postlethwait, the eldest daughter of Capt. G. L. Postlethwait (1806-1874), was married to James Tolly Worthington of Cincinnati on Sept 19, 1850. Gabriel Lewis Postlethwait operated the Phoenix Houtel, formerly a tavern, in Lexington Ky.
There are faint markings in addition to the bold APR 2 date including an M between the A and the 5 and a 2 to the right of the 2 (and slightly lower). Based on the centering of the 2 beneath the P, I agree with Charles that the date is APR 2. The CDS is mostly crisp except at the lower right indicating some minor shift during its application that might have caused the extra markings.
