Henry Sheldon (1821-1899) was a grocer at 41 Water Street in New York City (1848 Doggett’s).
Henry Sheldon & Co. was a prominent wholesale grocery, tea, and coffee import firm operating in lower Manhattan, New York City, during the mid-19th century (located at addresses such as Front Street). Around 1848, the firm was actively engaged in New York's bustling trade district near the East River shipping slips.
Historical records refer to a business partnership between Adam Wert (1797-1885) and Adam Bergert (1802-1881) and a lawsuit against a Peter Manville in 1845. Google AI speculates that Wert & Bergert may have owned a mill, or other business, and Peter Manville failed to pay for a contract or service.
