Louis Bristol (1814-1882) was a civil engineer and then studied law at Yale. He passed the Bar in 1843. He married, May 29, 1844, Mary D., only daughter of William P. Cleaveland, Jr., (Y. C. 1816), of New London, Conn., by whom he had three sons and one daughter.
George Willard Goddard (1824-1913) graduated from Yale in 1845, studied law with the firm of Walker & Bristol and then attended Yale Law school. In 1848, after graduation, he entered a partnership with Louis Bristol. He later was a member of the House of Representatives of the State of Conn (1856) and a probate judge.
