Letter addressed to Alvah C Bush (1804-1880), a merchant and lumberman who lived in Tioga NY and New York City. He was postmaster of Tioga (1838-45), engaged in local politics in Tioga and owned much land, including Bush Park.
Letter in Care of William (Levi) Bigelow (1826-1898), Secretary of the Home Insurance Co in NYC. Both Avah Bush and William Bigelow were born in Bainbridge NY.
