Notes
Scott #1 on folded letter datelined Dec 4, 1847 from Rochester NY to Lockport NY. Faint cds at center reads Rochester NY Dec 4, slightly double struck and rotated, somewhat giving the appearance of a crossed 7, which was not used on Rochester mail. Additionally, there is an ms notation at the top of the letter that it was received in Lockport on Dec 7. Letter from William James to John James.
