Cover is addressed to Corinna. There is a town of that name in Maine and was incorporated on Dec 11, 1816.
Samuel Banton was born in 1795 in Chelsea, Mass and died in 1864 in Montville, Maine. He was married to Rebecca Gillum in 1818 in Trenton, NJ. Rebecca died in 1879 in Montville, Maine. Their daughter, Rebecca Esther Banton, was born in Montville, Maine but was married on Feb 17, 1844 in Corinna, Me. (Corinna is about 35 miles S-SW of Montville.)
Given the lack of a state name in the destination, it is logical to assume this cover was mailed in the State of Maine. A search of Maine towns reveals a possible match to the manuscript postmark – North Haven, Me. The mailing date appears to be May 5th, 18xx.
