Hoffman’s 1854 Albany city Directory lists Moses Patten residing at 34 Washington Street.
Moses Patten was from Londonderry, N. H., and came to the town of Berne, in Albany County, NY in 1820. He was a graduate of Union College and had studied law. He served as town clerk, justice of the peace, supervisor, school commissioner, and was for many years a merchant at Berne village. Being elected surrogate of the county (1840-1844) Mr. Patten moved to Albany, where he died in 1867.
Margaret Patten married Samuel T. Parker, a grocer in Boston in 1850. They had 4 children, the eldest named Moses, named after her (presumed) father.
