Letter sent in care of George F Bowen, later knighted. “Rev. Geo. Slack officiated at Sherbrooke at the marriage of George F. Bowen, Commiss. of Bankrupts, St. Francis District, and Eliza Jessie Wyatt.” (Aug 12, 1843, Sherbrooke Chronicle & Gazette). In 1869, George Bowen was a founding member of the Sherbrooke, Eastern Townships, and Kennebec Railway Company.
