Llewelyn D. P. Palmer (1819-1856) was a general of the Maine volunteer militia and commander of the 8th Division. He was an attorney and Athens, Maine Selectman, a Democratic Party official, and the Athens Postmaster and town clerk (1849-50). Charles F. H. Green was a Judge of the Somerset County Probate Court and an attorney and law partner to Llewelyn Palmer. Llewellyn was married to Lydia Clarke Green. The Llewellyn D P Palmer Papers (1820s-1900) are housed at the Raymond H Folger Library at the University of Maine.
