#1a, 5c Dark brown, four large even margins, sharp impression and nice example of this darker shade, attractively tied to 1848 folded cover, addressed to John Tucker, President of the Reading Railroad Company in Philadelphia, by light red grid, "Boston/10 Cts/10 Aug." c.d.s. at left, despite the 10c rate marking this is clearly the only stamp that franked this cover and no due markings are present, minor wrinkles to the cover, stamp is very fine and an attractive usage; Ward handstamp on reverse
