Letter to Leonard Fitz Edward Jarvis, Jr. (1781-1854), US Congressman. Elected to represent Maine's 6th and 7th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1829 to 1837. He was chairman of the United States House Committee on Naval Affairs during the twenty-fourth congress. He was also a Navy agent for the port of Boston from 1838 to 1841.
