A first Issue U S Stamp #1, Brown 5 cent Franklin in the first year stamps became available in JULY, so this rare letter of sales is a first year cover, sent in December 1847 ..... and further a first year cancel and tie to the stamp, Cancel, and the sales receipt on the reverse of this folded letter for bedding, beds, feathers is dated. 2008 Certified for Authenticity

Five folded letters or covers each with a single, including one tied by red "5" handstamp used from Baltimore to Hagerstown Md., one tied by blue "5" in circle handstamp from Philadelphia to New York, one cancelled by red grid, two by blue grids, few faults including file fold affecting stamp on second, mostly Fine appearance
