Charles Thompson (1798-1871), in partnership with Luther Latham, operated an iron store at 50 Main Street in Charlestown, Mass. The store catered to ship builders and carriage makers. Charles Thompson served in the Mass State Legislature and on the Governor’s Council. He was also a director of several railroad companies and president of the Charlestown Mutual Fire Insurance Company.
