The 1857 edition of the Banker’s Register lists Samuel Jacob as the cashier of the North-Western Bank of Wellsburg, Va. (now W. V.). The bank was organized in 1832 and Samuel Jacob was the first cashier. Later, the bank was merged into the First National Bank of Wellsburg and is now known as the Wellsburg National Bank.
Samuel was still cashier in 1871 (Banker’s Magazine, 1871, p308).
