It Is A Genuine Usage OF SCOTT 1a, DARK BROWN SHADE, OF THE FAMILY OF RIDGEWAY'S CHESTNUT BROWN (XIV-11'm).

Lot 3036 #1a, 5c Dark brown, three ample to large margins, very slightly cut in at top, a rare shade with magnificent depth of color (in the chestnut brown family) and impression, just tied on an immaculate Aug 1847 folded letter by a bright blue grid, matching Baltimore pmk., fine, a simply beautiful cover which appears as if it were made yesterday. 1991 PF Certificate
