1847, 5¢ red brown (No. 1), faulty, cancelled by red "5" rate handstamp of Baltimore, on 1851 buff cover to Freiwaldau, Germany, blue May 26 c.d.s., manuscript "per Liverpool Steamer" and "via Berlin", manuscript "1/6" due to Great Britain and red crayon "52" due, reverse with British transit and five different German markings including Berlin straightline and Deutz-Minden arc; cover with small stain on face from wax seal, stamp lifted, repaired, still Fine appearance and very scarce. Estimate $1,000-1,500.
