Charles Thompson and Luther Latham were dealers in iron at 50 Broad Street (1850 Boston city directory).
Charles Thompson (1798-1871) was a well-known iron merchant and a prominent citizen of Charlestown, active in all municipal and public affairs, a state senator and member of the governor's council, the first Democratic candidate for mayor after the organization of the city government, and at one time the Democratic candidate for the office of lieutenant governor.
