Lot 4272 #1, 5c Brown, four margin example, tied to 1849 folded wrapper to New York by Baltimore numeral 5 cancel, a lovely cover from the Walcott collection with just a tiny scissor cut near RT margin, which enters into design, o/w extremely fine. Cash value $750-1000

W. C. Peters (1805-1866) was a music teacher, publisher, and composer of songs, marches, and a symphony.
A. H. Gale & Co. were manufacturers of Pianofortes.at 102 Ave 3 in NYC (1848 Doggett). Started as the New York Piano Manufacturing Company in 1837, Adams Hugh Gale took control of the company in 1845 and renamed it A. H. Gale & Co. They remained in business until 1870.
