5c Red Brown (1). Large margins to full, bright color, tied by manuscript X and blue 5 in oval handstamp with matching Baltimore Md. Oct. 24 circular datestamp on blue 1849 folded letter to Wellsburg Va., manuscript due 5 marking, fresh and Very Fine, an interesting short-paid use for double-weight letter traveling under 300 miles, after marking it with the 5 handstamp the postmaster must have realized it was overweight, so he crossed out the marking and added the due 5, with 1998 P.F. certificate E. 400-500
