(190) John Wilkes, Jr. from New York State, entered the Navy on Sept 10, 1841 and passed to the rank of Midshipman on Aug 10, 1847. In 1848 he served on the Sloop Albany. (1848 Commissioned and Warrant Officers of the United States Navy, pp 70-71).
