1847, 5¢ brown (Scott No. 1). Large margins to in at top, pre-print paper fold at left, clear sharp impression and handsome shade called dark brown by P.F., small manuscript "X" on Oct. 10, 1849 folded letter from Wrightsville Pa. to Baltimore with manuscript. "Way" written opposite stamp, letter begins "I was mistaken about a way car agoing clear through the first day. They only go to York. So that car will not be at the switch till tomorrow." etc.; stamp with light horizontal crease from contents, Fine and rare usage. Estimate $400-500
