Letter addressed to Henry D. Farnandis and written by Ramsay McHenry.
Henry Dorsey Farnandis (1817-1900) of Harford County, was a lawyer in Belair and member of the Maryland House of Delegates (lower House of the Legislature) in 1854 and was elected to the State Senate in 1853. In 1867 he was a member of the state constitutional convention.
Ramsay McHenry (1814-1878) of Harford County, was the first grandson of James McHenry, the Revolutionary War hero who served as secretary to George Washington, was the first Sec. of War and was the namesake of Fort McHenry in Baltimore. He was a member of the state legislature for several terms and served on the second state constitution convention, held in 1851
