This cover currently resides in the Charles A. Hirzel collection in the Museum für Kommunikation in Berne, Switzerland.
Letter addressed to Rev William Theodore Dwight (1795-1865), son of Rev Timothy Dwight (1752-1817), President of Yale College. William graduated from Yale in 1813 and, after his father died, entered the practice of Law in Philadelphia until 1831. He then entered the ministry and, after a few months, was licensed to preach by the Third Presbytery of New York. In 1832 he moved to the Third Congregational Church in Portland, Maine where he served for 32 years. He was, for more than 20 years, President of "The Maine Missionary Society" and, for many years, was an "overseer" of Bowdoin College,
