1847, 5¢ dark brown (1a), clear to large margins, originally pen cancelled, with red "Machias Me. Sep. 30" c.d.s. on 1847 partly printed document from Collector of Customs to Cherryfield, Me., turned 180-degrees and readdressed back to Machias from Narraguagus on Oct. 1, twice struck postmark with one tying stamp, manuscript "5" rate, Very Fine.
