Lot 768 #2a, 10c Black, diagonal bisects used to pay 5c rate, two covers from the Evans correspondence addressed to Brattleborough, Vermont, postmarked blue "Gardiner Me May 12" and "May 14", covers each bear one half of the same adhesive (position 9R), each tied by blue grid cancel, this pair of covers was a highlight of the Knapp collection and is considered to be one of the finest bisect pairs known, very fine .....
