Lot 233 1847, 10¢ black, unique use from Shreveport LA (Scott 2), full to large margins on three sides, close at top, red handstamp and pen * cancel, red "Shreveport La. Sep 4" circular datestamp at top left, on lady's small cover addressed to Corry PA with original enclosure statement sized embossed handwritten invitation that reads, "Mr. & Mrs. George A. Torrence at home Thursday evening. 8 1/2 o’clock Wednesday morning" which is physically impossible, use of a perpetual calendar indicates that this is an 1850 use, cover faults, still, Fine, According to Alexander's 1847 Cover Census book, there are no other known 1847 covers from Shreveport and Shreveport did not receive any 1847 stamps, ex-Lippman, P.F. certificate #135667 no longer accompanies.
