Lot 3006 1847, 5¢ red brown (1), ample to mostly huge margins with adjacent stamp visible at bottom and part sheet margin at right, lightly tied by red grid on piece of folded letter to France; piece shows bold red New Orleans c.d.s. and 1854 Lyon receiver; stamp, which has been lifted and replaced, has a crease in the sheet margin and minor bleaching at bottom (last not mentioned on certificate), otherwise Very Fine and quite attractive.
